Buddypress: sociale media voor WordPress
BuddyPress is een open source software pakket voor sociale media, ontwikkeld vanuit WordPress. Het is een plugin die kan geïnstalleerd worden op WordPress om deze te transformeren in een sociaal media platform.
Waarvoor kan je BuddyPress gebruiken?
BuddyPress werkt goed om mensen met gemeenschappelijke interesses samen te brengen en te laten communiceren. Sommige van de toepassingen kunnen zijn:
- een sociaal netwerk over de hele campus van je school, universiteit of college.
- een interne communicatietool voor je bedrijf
- een niche sociaal netwerk voor een bepaald onderwerp
- een gefocussed sociaal netwerk voor je nieuwe produkt
BuddyPress is niet “alles of niks”
BuddyPress biedt een waaier aan features aan die direct inzetbaar zijn. Niettemin kan je toch beslissen om slechts een deel van deze mogelijkheden te benutten. Dit kan gemakkelijk door de features die je niet nodig hebt uit te schakelen met een simpele klik op een knop. Wanneer je een feature uitschakelt, dan zal het thema van je site zich automatisch aanpassen aan deze nieuwe settings en zal je enkel de menu’s, pagina’s of knoppen te zien krijgen die van toepassing zijn voor de actieve features.
